How do you respond to pressure? What comes out of you when the screws are tighten? How do you respond when the walls close in? What’s your instinct when you’re backed up into a corner? Continue reading When the going is tough, the question is “who are you going with?”
This week, I’ve been thinking about longevity. In a fast-paced, frenetic (dare I say “millenial”) world of instant gratification, the idea of someone consistently staying at the net for the long haul is not the most appealing, or common, thing.
If you had to call it a characteristic in someone, it could be deemed a number of ways. At its worst, we call it stubborn. But I’m referring to terms like faithful; reliable; steadfast; consistent; unwavering. Continue reading A 56-year-old who doesn’t back down
Before I get into my deep thought for the week, I thought I should pause and say that this past weekend is cause for reflection. I remember blogging at the beginning of lockdown thinking about when musicians would be able to perform again and what it would look like. Continue reading Ramblings about priorities
This week, love is in the air as we try and work around social distancing protocols and celebrate Valentine’s Day. Somehow, an elbow doesn’t seem very romantic. Air hugs, two metres apart. Blowing kisses, but keeping your mask on while you do it.

If you’re only starting your year in February, your resolutions might be dead on track now that we’re only 4 days into February! But perhaps not.
One of the big clichés around new year resolutions is around health and fitness. There’s always a wealth of humour to go with that, which I’ll get into in the podcast.
But on the subject of health and fitness, I thought I’d pose this question: what does school teach us about health and fitness? Continue reading Health and fitness thoughts
In my previous blog post, I spoke about yokes and a growth mindset. We’ve dealt with yokes, and now we’re looking ahead at the vast myriad of possibilities we Continue reading Growing your mindset
The world is a pretty hectic place at the moment. If you’re anything like me you look at all the issues going on around the planet and you wonder if we’ll ever find some semblance of peace.
Probably not in our lifetime. So what do we do? What will help?
Maybe it’s just where I’m at right now, but I’m looking at the issues in the world today and I can’t shake the idea that most of the conflict and systematic problems could be avoided if good fathers were present. Continue reading The Yoke of Fathering
